I have a dell laptop with windows xp which is real slow, I lost the disks to it and was wondering?
If I would be able to wipe the hard drive and use the windows xp license key on the bottom of the computer from a xp download?
When you do not have the disk but you do have the license key, you can borrow windows xp CD. Ith as to be the same version as you have.
With that borrowed CD you can format your computer and reinstall windows. Make a back up copy of the windows cd first
It is very drastic to format your computer. Try this first.
