Laptop brand recommendations?
I’m looking to buy a mid-range 15.4” or 14.1” (1000-1600) laptop for school and leisure use. Which brand should I buy? I don’t want second-tier brands like Acer. The big chainstores here like Bestbuy and Futureshop sell mostly Hp Laptops at that price range. I heard that they aren’t very reliable. Which brand should I buy? And where should I buy it so I can get the best deal? I live in Canada.
And I’ve noticed that all the laptops the big stores carry have weak graphics cards. Where can I get a laptop with better graphics options?
Under $1500 = Dell, for reliability and performance
Over $1500 = Asus (better gor gaming), Toshiba (better reliability)
You could consider HP over Dell since Dell’s Tech support is quite poor.
Good idea avoiding Acer. They are very unreliable. Compaq is also worth avoiding, since they charge way too much on repairs (e.g. $600 to replace a DVD drive). Avoid the Sony Vaio’s as well. They’re overpriced, and they’re pretty ordinary laptops.
