Lenevo Thinkpad T40?????
my sister has a ibm or leveno thinkpad (leveno bought the thinkpad line) and her dvd player dosent work and she wants/needs to replace it but does her laptop use sata or ide?

If your HDD uses IDE then you can assume that your dvd drive also uses IDE. However, to be sure go to System Properties, Hardware Device Manager, Details, Enumerator. It should show you whether it is IDE or SATA.
