
Dell Inspiron Mini 10
The Dell has offered a sleek design for their Mini 10 with plenty of option for customization. It has now a more efficient CPU and over 9 hours battery life with a variety of colors to choose from this Dell Inspiron Mini 10 comes with a more unique look. It is also provided with a 250 GB hard drive, 1 GB of RAM and Windows 7 starter edition.
The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 net book gets a new wedge shape design and the lid places itself on top of the deck. This netbook is a bit heavier than that of the regular 2.8 pounds. The cover of Mini 10 is designed with white plastic and does not imprint finger prints despite getting a glossy finish. The color options are pink, black, purple, blue, red and green. The keyboard of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is different, you now can have the keys terraced and so the top is smaller as compared to the base, but the typing is comfortable for long durations. This unit comes with a more solid feedback.
The Mini 10 has the touchpad with integrated buttons of the mouse. The touchpad now is a 3.0 x 1.4 inches. The buttons are small and the unit has not switched from Elantech to a Synaptic diver and does not support the multitouch like the two-finger scrolling and rotation or the zoom. The display of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is a 10.1 inch, and the pixel resolution panel is 1024×600 and is bright and crisp for watching videos. Viewing angles are sufficiently good, can be seen clearly from 180 degrees horizontally. The speakers are booming.
On the left of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 are two USB ports, a3in 1 memory card reader and a VGA port. You will find the Ethernet on the right and also the USB, mic ports and the headphone. However there is no HDMI port. The 1.3 megapixel webcam is good and the central utility can be adjusted for color, backlight settings and gamma. The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 has a face tracking feature which was quite reactive when tested. The microphone could pick the voice well for Skype calls.
The Dell Inspiron Mini 10′s performance is good enough, the 1.66-GHz Intel Atom N450 processor and 1 GB of Ram together scored a 1,326 in PCMarks05. It also has a relatively loud speakers and lots of optional bell and whistles.
